Homewood Suites by Hilton Springfield, VA

The check in was fine and our first room was great. The second room we went to had a separate bedroom which was great. Upon looking over the room I noticed sum minor conditioning issues like torn piece of carpet and small tear on the couch but overall okay. One problem is that I stood at the front desk several times to never be helped even after ringing the bell.

So if you want the most accurate opinion about this hotel, here it goes. What's in this review is very accurate so please believe the negatives you are being told by others. The negative outweighs the good. The location is awesome because of everything that you have access to. Only complaint about that is the entrance is a little hard to find and can be missed easily. The hotel staff was very friendly and honestly the best part of the entire stay. You pay $15 a night to park in a small car garage that you can barely fit two cars side by side. If you park by a car you have to squeeze out your door. The garage is open access to anyone so I don't understand why they charge money. The breakfast all I can say is yuck. Potatoes not even done they were still raw and hard. Eggs disgusting. So you'll only have cereal, waffles, Oatmeal and sausage if you're fine with that. The beds are super hard and uncomfortable. You can feel the springs. They show a stand up shower on the pictures of the room but it's a regular tub. Stains all over the carpet and room. The bed wasn't even made properly as the sheets were coming off the bed and wrinkled under the cover. The room has a weird smell also.

The front desk and breakfast kitchen staff were very nice. Our room was spacious and clean. Only problem I had was we didn't have enough towels for 4 people. We also had to go ask for more washclothes, tissue replacement and coffee pod replacements. It was like doing chores at home. I don't need cleaning or making beds but come every day to refresh towels and supplies, take out garbage would be better. We were here for family in Green spring retirement center so it was good location to food, shops also. Hilton app needs to fix the app checkin and digital key. Worked for me but not for my husband. Needs to be simple to share key with others without needing another id.

i want to start by saying the BEST part of this stay was the young man at the front desk. i can’t recall his name, i think he was new but he was very kind and accommodating. also the $15 parking and shopping center right across the street. other than that, the rooms were… gross. our first room smelled like fish the second we walked in. i immediately phoned the front desk to get a new one. as i’m waiting, i overheard another guest complaining about blood stains in his room. then we get a new room, and it was… a bit dirty. it’s like nothing was wiped down, even the walls. i added some pictures below but i took a lot more. and yes, that is a cough drop in between the bed and nightstand. i’m not sure what that is on the lamp. but honestly, i don’t even blame housekeeping. they probably don’t get paid enough for the work they do but homewood suites needs to do better overall.
